the american dharamshalian

I came to India after spending a lot of time reflecting on my own life. I decided that I wanted to leave the United States and experience life from a different perspective. Within the first six hours of arriving in Delhi, I was scammed out of over half my money by a “travel agency”. I ended up working on an organic farm (WOOF-ing) in Dharamsala for three weeks where I was generously given food and a place to stay. I have learned so much from India and I want to spend the rest of my life traveling around the world. In the United States I was taught that being happy meant making lots of money, but through living here, I have learned that happiness is about doing what you love most and going with the flow because everyone is different.
